(ABC Nightline video from that night.)Like most African-American communities, Washington D.C & Howard University, erupted in relief and with contentment, after the 11:00 p.m. countdown when news networks announced Barack Obama to the 44th President of the United States. I was not in Washington D.C., but in the Democratic Club with the rest of my St. Albans, Queens community. I lost my voice that night. It was memorable.
